Preview: Chivas vs. Cruz Azul

Preview: Atlante vs. Chivas

This Sunday, Chivas will visit Atlante in a Liga MX game. The last time Chivas played Atlante, Chivas pulled off a victory in Estadio Omnilife with a score of 1-0. Chivas are looking to win in order to be at the top of the leader board, while Atlante is fighting to stay in 1st Division. Here is a video of their last confrontation:

Estadio Omnilife's 1st goal

Who scored the 1st goal in the Omnilife stadium? When Chicharito first went to Manchester United, he would play 45 minutes with Chivas and 45 minutes with United in a friendly game at the brand new Omnilife Stadium. The place got filled with Chicharito and Chivas fans for this game. In the 7th minute of the game, the 1st goal would be scored by none other than Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. He would make history by scoring the 1st of many goals, giving Chivas a victory of 3-2 against the Red Devils.

Copa MX: Chivas conquer Leones Negros

Chivas begin to gain some momentum as they get their 1st victory in Copa MX against Leones Negros. Chivas would score the only goal in the game in minute 56 when Lopez scored the game winning goal. Even after the victory, Chivas have not yet taken 1st place in their group. Dorados is in 1st place with 7 points, while Chivas is behind with 5 points. 3rd place is Leones Negros with 1 point and Estudiantes are in last place with 0 points. The group is beginning to heat up.

A Victory worth 1000 words (and 4 goals)

In 2011, Chivas played some friendly matches, and one of them was one of the best team in the world, FC Barcelona. The game was a struggle for Chivas in the 1st half when David Villa scored the first goal of the game in the 3rd minute. In the 2nd half, however, Chivas would turn the score around. In the 58th minute, Marco Fabian would score a tremendous goal from outside the area. Minute 62 would introduce Fabian's 2nd goal with a bicycle kick. Giovani Casillas would score the 3rd goal in the 71st minute and the 4th goal would be scored by Jose Verduzco in the 92nd minute. This shows that sometimes the best team in the world is no match for Chivas. 

Liga MX: 16 away games without winning

This past Saturday, Chivas Guadalajara visited the Tiburones Rojos of  Veracruz. Chivas would open the game with a goal from Israel Castro. Veracruz, however, would respond by scoring a goal almost similar. The game would end with a 1-1 score, allowing Veracruz to steal 2 points from Chivas. With this result, Veracruz sums up 5 points and places 6th in the league, while Chivas is in 7th place with the same number of points.

Back in Time: A Goal to Remember

One of the greatest moments in Chivas history was this goal from Bofo Bautista against Toluca in the Final de la Apertura 2006. The game was 1-1 and when things looked tough, Bofo would score this magnificent goal giving Chivas Guadalajara the victory and their 11th championship. The excitement that was brought on this day will never be forgotten.
